The Mint Project will offer an exciting new learning environment that brings history to life in a relevant, fun and engaging manner.Experiences at the Mint will EXPLAIN, INSPIRE, and TEACH, promoting conversation, inquiry, creation and adventure.
When restored, the unique mix of experiences at the Mint will include:
Mint Presses: Mint a coin firsthand. Design your own custom die-set and then step up, turn the screw press and make your own keepsake coin of the Mint. See a high-volume pneumatic press in action, learn about the evolution of coin materials and minting technologies as well as look where money is heading in the future.Historic Event Rental Spaces
Enjoy! Visitors will be able to explore and immerse themselves in historic rooms and authentic vaults dating from 1874, where the nation's gold and silver wealth was stored for more than half a century.
Unique, unparalleled event rental opportunities will be possible. They will include:
- Sit-down dinner for 250 in the courtyard, covered by a glass canopy
- Private dinners for 20 - 30 in the historic Mint vaults
- Program / Lectures for 100 - 150 under the roof
- Cocktail / light dining throughout the Mint's many unique spaces
