"Conserving the authentic fabric of the Old US Mint makes San Francisco's history tangible, deepens our understanding of the values of those who settled, persevered and developed the foundation upon which San Francisco has grown; and establishes a benchmark for this and future generations to measure their progress toward integrating meaningful and lasting contributions into the fabric of this city's urban environment."
